Equipment Operator III (Heavy Equipment) - $17.45 per hour

Summary
The purpose of this classification is to operate heavy equipment and perform manual work functions associated with the construction, maintenance and repair of city grounds, roads, or drainage system.
Essential Functions
The following duties are normal for this classification:
Operates and maintains heavy equipment and machinery used in construction, maintenance and repair of city grounds, roads, or drainage systems, to include the limb and boom truck, sanitation truck, excavator, motor grader, bulldozer, and other heavy equipment.
Operates light to medium equipment as assigned.
Inspects equipment prior to use and ensures necessary equipment repairs are made, performs maintenance tasks necessary to keep machinery, equipment, and tools in good working condition, to include greasing and cleaning, maintaining fluid levels, and changing tires.
Inspects job site for possible hazards prior to operating equipment.
Performs manual work functions associated with construction, maintenance and repair of city roads, drainage systems, or grounds, specifically in building/maintaining roads and sidewalks, digging holes or trenches, installing pipe, and shoveling asphalt, road mix, rock or dirt.
Cleans catch basins/ditches/rights-of-ways, unstops storm drains, and picks up trash. Places and retrieves signage or barricades, loads and unloads trucks, and flags traffic. Repairs fences, roads, and sidewalks and patches holes and packs asphalt.
Picks up and delivers supplies and equipment to/from work sites.
Performs cleaning/housekeeping tasks.

The City of Bay Minette is seeking applicants for Firefighter (Alabama Firefighter I/II certification is preferred) to perform technical and specialized work functions associated with driving and operating fire apparatus, preparing for and responding to fire, rescue, EMS, and disaster emergency calls, protecting life and property, and supporting fire safety, prevention, and equipment maintenance activities. The City of Bay Minette is accepting applications for the seasonal position of Lifeguard for the City of Bay Minette Municipal Pool.
NOTE: Applicants MUST provide certification of an American Red Cross Lifeguard Training course PRIOR to the orientation and onboarding process. Lifeguards may qualify for 50% certification fee reimbursement after working the first full summer and 50% after the second full summer.

Other Possible Lifeguard Training Sources
This is a seasonal position working at the Municipal Pool during the summer pool season. The primary responsibility will be to safeguard and protect the pool patrons and staff. Other responsibilities will include pool and building maintenance to ensure a safe and clean environment for all and patrons and staff to enjoy, and performing related duties as assigned by the Pool Manager.
