The Christenberry Courtyard was dedicated in 2022 in memory of Rev. Daniel Christenberry and Mary Ellen Christenberry, two beloved individuals who had servants’ hearts for our community. This pocket park is located between Bay Minette City Hall and the John F. Rhodes Civic Center.
The Courtyard area renovation included the addition of beautiful plants and flowers, pergola, bench and swing area. The brick pavers were repurposed from the downtown sidewalk area. The project also included revamping the landscaping around the flagpole at the front of city hall.
The project was designed and overseen by Jody McMillan and Mark Meastas with City's Grounds crew and was funded through donations from Christenberry friends, family, and First Methodist Church of Bay Minette.
The Christenberry Courtyard is open to the public and makes for a beautiful place for a picnic, resting area, or a backdrop for photographs of special occasions.
